wa   'innii  kullamaa daAautu-      hum    li-tagfira la hum 
And  lo! I   whenever I have called them  that Thou                                                         mayest forgive them,
                      I call unto 

jaAaluu    'aSaabiAa-hum    fii  aavaani-him    
they put    fingers their   in    their ears  
     thrust 

wastagcau               xiyaaba-  hum    wa 'aSarruu           
cover themselves with  garments   their  and persist                                                          grown obstinate        
                                              

wa  stakbaruu 
and are puffed up
    magnify themselves
    given themselves up to arrogance.
